Colon Cleansing Detoxification

do these ingredients sound good for a detox?

a friend of mine bought an herbal powder detox and i was wondering are these ingredients good for cleansing the colon/intestines? it’s to be taken over a 3 day period. my buddy says that the first he did #1 all night long, first time yellow and the rest was all clear. then after the next dose he did #2 all day/night. about 6 times all together. he said he had wet bowel movements and that his stomach didn’t hurt it just all came out nice and smooth.

with that said i’m wondering would these ingredients actually cleanse the colon or are they just producing bowel movements but not actually cleansing the colon. you know something like how a water pill makes you urinate?
oops i forgot to list the ingredients. here the are:

psyllim husk, seena powder, fennel see, peppermint, papaya, rose hips, buckthorn bark, barberry root, celery and acidophilus (i think that’s the spelling. part of the name got cut off my sheet) grape root.

it’s all in a brown powder.
i’m NOT trying to lose weight. if i did that i would disappear! i’m trying to cleanse my colon! that’s it!

im in a competition with some of my family members to lose the most weight by christmas. the winner gets 0—-and i REALLY want to win it b/c im saving up for a new car. there arent any rules, so we can use pills, or even go to extremes and have surgery for it. lol. but i heard that the acai berry/colon cleanse thing works, but i wanna make sure……so does it?
and i already am eating less and dieting more….but i just want to know if it actually works

I am wanting to detox. What is the best way?

I have been on pain medication for about a year. Taking it as prescribed but I now feel as though I don not need it and am wanting to cleanse my body and get back on a natural diet. I found a detox that cleanses each organ and goes in specific order cleansing the colon first and then kidneys and ending with the liver and blood. Should I just focus on coming off the pain meds first or is it going to be easier just to go right into the detox regime (Will it make it easier in the long run). I have become somewhat dependant on the meds but not so much addicted. I probaly will experience some withdrawals. Any input would be much appreciated.

What's a good FULL body detox method?

I haven’t been taking very good care of myself & this weekend my friends & I went out (which is a rare occasion for me). So I want to completely cleanse/detox my system of alcohol, toxins just a complete fresh start. I am really trying to avoid the colon option…if possible.

Colon or body cleanse/detox? someone answer?

Is there a good body cleanse/detox or colon cleanse i could buy at walmart for 20 dollars or maybe less? or maybe some kind of juice fast? anything to cleanse out my body and maybe lose 10-20 pounds? Don’t lecture me if its bad.. im doing it anyways so save the preaches.

I began a raw food body detoxification (colon cleanse) on May 31st, and I haven’t been able to eliminate much waste/mucoid plaque specifically, since I began. I’ve been drinking the Psyllium & Bentonite shakes once a day before bed, and increased it to twice a day yesterday morning to see quicker results. Any tips of raw foods I could eat to increase bowel movements, exercises, other advice, etc? Thanks.

Do colon cleanses help in weight loss?

I realize that the majority of the weight loss people experience during a cleanse or detox comes from the dietary regimen that they follow during it. However, does the cleansing of the colon by itself or whatever is found in most cleanses do anything for weight loss.

I am going to detox. Avoid tea?

Ok so im going to detox and colon cleanse my body. I’ve been doing lots of research and I got it down of what to eat and what not. BUT i am still confused because ive read in some places i should avoid coffee and tea, but ive also read teas like green tea and chamomile is good for you. What do you guys think?

I’m planning on doing a detox or colon fast for 3 days. I’m 13 years old, 115lbs and 5’4. Has anyone done a fast before? I wanna just eat organic fruits, veggies and water for 3 days. I’m hoping it will clear my skin, and maybe I’ll lose like 2-3 lbs? And I heard u can take this supplement thing with you meal to make it a colon cleanse? I also thought about a 3 day water fast but I wanna start with just eating raw fruits/veggies. How do I eat before/after a fast? Will I have energy? Pls answer my questions! Thanks

Official Cleanse, have you tried it?

Has anyone tried official cleanse for colon detox? Does it work or is it a scam?

Hi, I have just started the Dr Natura Colonix cleanse, I only started yesterday and drank the 1 glass of water fibre mix and then drank a cup of the senna tea before I went to bed, then at about 4am I woke up WIDE awake with a faster beating heart, went to the loo a couple of times which was productive and managed to get back to sleep but today I feel seriously wierd…. bit shaky, had a head ache this morning, feel like i’m "buzzing, slight palpitations it feels like" i’m also feeling a bit grogy in general and just not really with it and with a slightly dry mouth
is this normal or have I just reacted really badly to the senna?

Colon Cleansing question?

I am 19 years old. In two weeks, I leave for Military Training. In the past, I have had constipation/gas problems. During this entire week, I am suffering from constipation and stomach bloating..which added more weight to me. I eat right, and have been exercising everyday for the past few weeks. I take Benefiber, and also took some Milk of Magnesia (which doesn’t seem to work). I am thinking I need a Colon Cleansing to help me out. Would taking a over the counter Colon Detoxification medicine help me out?

I have always heard of those detox programs, but never actually tried one myself. However, I’m NOT interested in going to a doctor to get my colon cleansed. I just want a detox I can do at home.

Is this diet a sensible one?

I found this diet plan for a quick way to slim down.

Is it legit…? Would it work? I would like to get into pilates/yoga and change my diet, so let me know what you think of this diet I found on a site:

"Step 1
Detox is the way to go. Cleanse the colon and help your liver. Your liver is your filter, you have to take care of this thing or your body will get stuck with fattening toxins

Step 2
To take care of your liver, I am going to list the foods you will only eat for one week. Mix them up, find recipes and get creative. But remember to stick to just these foods and remember to portion correctly

- cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli
- parsley, kale, watercress, chard, cliantro, collards
- orange or lemon, lime juice (no grapefruit!)
- garlic, onions, eggs
- artichoke, asparagus, beets, celery, whey
- 1 time a day eat a serving (the size of the palm of your hand)of protein
- olive oil or flaxseed oil

Step 3
For your Colon eat and use the following:

- carrot, apple, pear, berries
- powdered psyllium husks, milled or ground flaxseeds

Step 4
Drink Filtered water cut with Organic Cranberry juice

Only drink that through out the day. And drink as much of it as you can to flush out the toxins (the more you drink the more you help get rid of cellulite)

Step 5
NO SUGAR, NO WHITES, NO ALCOHOL, NO CAFFEINE

STICK TO ORGANIC AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

Step 6
Stick to this diet and I promise the inches will start to melt off. Weight will follow. Your clothes will start to get big on you and you are going to feel AWESOME.

You should do the cleansing diet once every month. I personally just try to eat these foods no matter what and all I drink is water and organic cranberry"

I am not fat or overweight. I am wanting to get like…really slim though, so would this be a good diet for that? Or is it junk?

I’ve been feeling sluggish and I know it’s due to weather change and me not working out as much. Everything I do eat bothers me to some extent as well. I was on a BCP called Yaz to regulate my cycles and it elevated my liver enzymes – now I’m trying to lower that back to normal. (i stopped taking Yaz- dangerous side -effects)

I need a good liver cleanse and overall detox. Also, how old should a person be before considering a colon cleanse?
I did not know that. so why are so many on the market FDA approved? shouldn’t they be illegal?

LOL@ Ant. I love Mexican food! I was waiting on your wisdom too.
I am feeling a little depressed. it’s the weather. I am more of a sun girl- that’s why I plan to move. problem solved I guess.
whats up Z! thanks for the insight.

Thanks to all of you! good info to know.

What makes the white part in my eyes yellow?

I went to the doctor twice and have been referred to go see a G.I. twice. It has been confirmed that I have no jaundice. However, the yellow in my eyes annoying, and I wasn’t born with my eyes yellow, they were white before. I have understood that the yellowing of the eyes is a sign that there is a byproduct of red blood cells, which are now waste and stored in the liver; thus, this waste is cause of yellow skin, yellow eyes. I have no yellow skin, but yes yellow eyes. I am now considering trying a Detox product(one from GNC) for the cleansing of my colon/liver. I have been eating some unhealthy stuff for about a while(too much coffee cake in 1 sitting(about 10 servings), too much chocolate, sugar, brownies, processed foods(lean cuisine, hot pockets), fast food, peanut butter, etc). Another thing about my eating habit is I don’t really check for the expiration date, but most of the coffee cake I eat tastes the same any way even when the date states expired. I am considering having a new life style that includes carrots and fresh food. In conclusion, is it safe and highly recommended for a detox product?

I’m trying to gather all the information about colon detox which I intend to perform some time soon; and I would like to include a parasite cleanse, although I think I don’t have that problem, just to complement the colon cleanse. I have searched the internet about this issue and I have found a lot of information about it to the point that I am confused. There are many remedies, but I would like to know, out of your own experience, which one worked well for you that you would recommend or which one did not work, that will be also good to know.
I will carefully study your suggestions and experiences to determine the best one, I’ll be searching until I get well informed on the subject.
I’ll appreciate your experience and suggestions.
