It's not a fast-you take fiber and drink tea at night and take probiotics-good bacteria that we already have.

So unnecessary and can be dangerous. Your colon is made to cleanse itself. Myths about things staying in there are false. If that happens, it's because you might have diverticulitis, a condition that comes from not ingesting enough fiber over the years. If you had that you would KNOW it, and have to go to a doctor immediately.
If you want to keep your colon clean, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and other fiber. And drink lots of liquids.
leave well enough alone
I just saw an article on MSNBC about this and how unsafe and unneccesary these diets are. Your body is fully capable of cleansing and detoxing itsself and the only thing these diets do is damage you by depriving your body of vitamins that it needs, which in turn weakens your immune system. It can also deteriorate your muscles and throw off your potassium/sodium balance. I pasted a link to the article below, and this is not the first article I have seen that says the diets are not safe.
