When I had a colonoscopy after drinking the colon cleansing drinks, I purged over a 1/2 cup of SEEDS, which had been stuck in my intestines for who knows how long!!! We get no nutritional value from them, so why upset ones possible diverticulosis with these things?

Hi, I’ve been having some digestive problems going on for a while, I’ve been to a few doctor’s but they clearly don’t know what my problem is, and I couldn’t afford the cost accumulated from their random testing, so I’m trying to work it out on my own.

My problem is a mixture of things, mainly, I have constipation… my stools tend to be dry and hard to push out (although I drink plenty of water), and more disturbing is that many foods aren’t being broken down in my system. So far the list is Carrots, Walnuts, Pistachios, Avocados, Celery as well as other things, mainly nuts and vegetables but I also get weak and drowsy after eating meat, so I am assuming that I don’t break that down well either, even grains and legumes that are high in fiber and protein make me drowsy (rice, kidney beans, lentils, etc.), I also have a swollen tongue (with teeth indentations on the sides) and it often has a white coating, and my appetite has been very low.

When I WAS going to the doctor they ruled out a few things, they ruled out colitis, anemia, lactose and gluten intolerance, and they also did a colonoscopy/endoscopy and took some biopsies which ruled out the possibility of any blockage or structural problem as well as H. Pylori and other bacteria.

So right now I’m doing a variation of the master cleanse along with RX grade digestive enzymes to break down whatever may be stuck inside me, and enemas to try to flush it all out, but as far as what my actual problem is, I have no idea. It could be a problem with my pancreas, or a low stomach acidity.

I mainly just want to hear your ideas as to things to try, either directly for my problem or for additional cleansing help before I go back to solid food. All ideas are welcome and desired.

Im scheduled for a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy in the next few weeks. Im 22 male a little over weight 5’8 200 lbs…… I have stomach problems my colon spazes out time to time and I can feel it pulsating and the pain sometimes shifts to the opposite side. Stomtimes when I move I can feel my stomach move to like water inside just shifting as I shift. I also think I am refluxing sometimes I feel like I am going to throw up but I don’t and I get a bad taste in my mouth. Its weird because when I push on my colon I can a pop rocks sensation up my esphogus like their correlated. I’ve had diaerria for like 10 months straight and I went to gastroentologist and he scheduled the colonoscopy and endoscopy and gave me medicine to calm these symptoms down. MY QUESTION IS… is there a chance if I just take colon cleanse pills and do it for the day that all my problems could be cured and I could negate those procedures?
I have to get my colon cleansed the day before the procedures Aug 15th… I really want to try an alternative before this. Any recommendations on what to buy to cleanse? Also will this cause a problem if I clense my colon 3 weeks before the procedure where I’ll have to cleanse again the day before the procedure? The pain feels like air or gas is trapped and is often relieved then I pass gas so I feel like somethings blocking something. I do not want something probing my butt unless its absolutley necasary. I am aware I can get xrays but I mainly I want to know if a colon cleanse has the potential to cure these symptoms without the help of a endoscopy or colonoscopy.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

colon cleansing is advertised constantly on my local radio station, I go for a colonoscopy every 3 years will this show if I have a membrane that the cleansing is suppose to remove ???
read the question before passing judgement,,,I don"t go around looking for an enema

My doctor suspects I have one of these two diseases, and I have a colonoscopy next Tuesday. Here are my symptoms:

bleeding from rectum
mild to moderate eye inflammation (it is true, I went to the eye doctor)
bright red stool
dark, almost black stool
green stool
a combination of all those colors in my stool
mucus in my stool
diarreha once to four times a day
pain when passing stool
lower right abdominal pain
whole abdominal pain
cramping in my stomach
moderate to severe middle to upper back and neck pain
weight loss
fatigue
constipation (at times)

Please don’t call me a liar, I posted a question before and got such negative answers I deleted it. All of these symptoms have been going on for the past couple months, so I obvisiously don’t have constipation and diarreha at the same time. Everyone thought I was lying on my last question because they thought I was saying I was having all those symptoms at the same time. Oh and I don’t have a parasite or a bacterial infection, I had tests to outrule those. I also don’t think I have colon cancer. It was a concern at first because my grandma died of colon cancer and so did three of her sisters, 2 of whom died at age 16 and early twenties. I am 18 years old and female. My blood work came back fine though, so I’m pretty sure I don’t have colon cancer.

Oh and I had a cat scan, but all they could determine was that I had diverticulosis, (not to be confused with diverticulitis, which means the holes are inflammed, mine are not) and so that could not be a reason for all my symptoms.

Last thing is are bad are colonoscopies? I have one next Tuesday and I’m quite nervous. I heard they are not painful, but I’m not sure If I beleive that. I also heard the beforehand of cleansing is really bad too. How bad? Will it hurt?

Okay that’s it. Sorry my question is kind of long. I didn’t get to ask my doctor the difference between the two diseases so I’m just wondering which one I most likely have.

I’m thinking about doing a colon cleanse, but was wondering how similar the effects are to the prepping you have to do for a colonoscopy. I had that test not too long ago, so wondered if it would even be worth my while doing the cleanse?

colon cleanse/colonoscopy?

I have had stomach problems for the last few months and i have gone from being constipated to having an upset stomach, to nausea. I’ve had an ultrasound and nothin turned up and i have a upper GI endoscopy scheduled for after the holidays then if that doesn’t show anything, the doc says i’ll need a colonoscopy. I’ve had only brief periods of relief and they always come during periods where i’m going to the bathroom alot for a change. Anyways i’m tired of the pain and i’m willing to try anything so i was thinking of trying what my family members have had to do prior to a colonoscopy to clean out my system. I think it involves a miralax/gatorade mix that makes you go like crazy. Is this a bad idea??? I don’t really see how it could hurt anything and i’m desperate to get rid of this pain, and as i said before the only relief i’m getting is during the few times i’ve been able to go to the bathroom alot. I figure i have nothing to lose but i don’t want to hurt myself.

I have read many questions in here asking what is the best one, etc but never a question about what it is suppose to accomplish.
Anyone who has done this, any help here?
Okay guys, I KNOW it cleans your colon. What I want to know is what is the point suppose to be of a "clean colon" since that is where all bodily waste passes through and the colon gets dirty again.
And I’ve had colonoscopy. Didn’t notice any miracles after that little bit of heaven so again, what is the point of a colon cleanse?
Wow, alot of you guys pretty much agree with me that it is pointless. After reading so many questions asking about it, I figured I would get a bunch of people telling me how wonderful it is and maybe learn something new.

what to use to clean my colon out?

I WANT TO CLEANSE MY COLON & I NEED TO KNOW WHAT PRODUCT TO BUY AT CVS, RITE AID, ETC. IM NOT GOING FOR A COLONOSCOPY BUT I WANT TO GET EVERYTHING OUT OF ME CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO BUY WHAT KIND OF LAXATIVE

How do I do one and what is it like? Do you feel any different?
What is the name of the product doctors give patients before they have a colonoscopy that flushes everything out?

I ‘m going to have a colonoscopy soon. I will have to use fleets to clear my colon before the procedure. I was going to do a colon cleanse to improve the view for the procedure. However, the GNC rep I talked to said he didn’t know why people didn’t do a fleets every once in a while instead of a colon cleanse.

Colon cleanse question . . .

Before having a procedure, such as a colonoscopy, the doctor will have the patient take a megadose of Dulcolax or Miralax, or a large combination of the two. This then wipes out the colon, as the person will be living by a toilet for several hours. Is it safe to occasionally perform this ritual to clean out one’s colon just to keep one’s insides clean? If so, how often would be safe (e.g., every three months, six months, year, etc.)?

Are those colon cleanse photos for real?

I recently had a colonoscopy. I was very well cleaned out before the procedure, and I never saw any of the ropy lumpy things they show photos of. And the doctor would not have been able to do the procedure if those ropy things were in the way.

So does this mean I never had the ropy things, or the prep got rid of them?

Or does it mean that those ads are totally fake?

Bowel cleansing?

I am 15 years old, and need to know about a natural bowel cleansing idea.

I have a bad stomach/intestines. I have gastritis, inflammation of my colon, erosion, and ‘white scarring,’and pain, and no prescribed medicine has treated any of these symptoms. I used to have to get an endo- and colonoscopy monthly to check up on my backed up bowels and etc. Since then, I haven’t been able to use any laxative to help clean me out.

There is a gross tasting lemon-like formula available at a pharmacy or store, I think it’s liquid magnesium, the doctor made me drink two bottles of it before the procedure, and it made stool liquid until it was gone…but I think I had to take a pill with it, and I don’t know where to get the liquid, and if I have to be a certain age. Now I obv. can’t get the pill because I don’t see the doc. anymore.

Is there any liquid or pill that I can take available to 15 year olds to help cleanse my bowels in the span of 1 to 2 days w/ fasting? (Not a continual med.)
The reason I want to know is because although there is no discomfort, I have "constipation," I only go to the bathroom a couple times a week. And I like the feeling of being clean, my intestines feel nice, haha. But also, my Mom thinks what I want to do is gross…so I need alternative help or recommendations!
I have a gastroenterolgoist, but she isn’t very experienced. And, she no longer wants to see me because she thinks it’s rheumatology/immunology related. I can’t get another one, there is none close. I don’t have a good doctor, so I can’t get far there….I wish I was older so I could drive where I needed to and fend for myself! Once I’m 16 or 17 I will deff. look for new doctors. Thankyou for your concern and answers. Unfortunately, I guess I probably won’t be able to cleanse my bowels on my own :/

im drinking the stuff they have you drink before a colonoscopy. im drinking 8oz every 15 mins and have been drinking it for about 3 hours. i just threw up something i had for breakfast this morning. all this time i went to the bathroom twice…is any of this normal?

cleanse your system completely (your colon) without getting a colonoscopy? I'd like to do it in a healthy way and get rid of any impurities. Your help is appreciated. No rude comments or sarcasm please.

Constipation-gas odor.. Help!?

When I was younger I use to hold in my bowel movements. I'm in my 30s now and I can't seem to get things going again. I have tried almost everything, Health Force cleanses, herbal laxative, eating healthy, probiotics, magnesium, enemas, you name it. Recently I have been mixing homemade yogurt with a T. Psyllium for the last three weeks. I have been getting some movement but I have so much gas I think I'm going to explode! It has gotten to the point where nothing really responds and it seems I have no control over pushing anything out like the colon is numb inside. Also, because of all of this I am experiencing the gas not coming from rectum it comes directly out of pours. 15-20 minutes after I feel gas in my lower left abdomen I can smell a STRONG odor of eggs coming from me for days at a time. When I was somewhat gassy or constipated when I was younger I never had gas come out of my pours like this. Any explanation for this? I had blood tests done recently and everything looked ok except for high carnitine levels and raised cholesterol. I have had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done as well. I am not sure if it is related but I also have severe gout symptoms in my feet and ankles on a weekly basis. The Dr. said to take IB Profen and no high purine foods which I don't consume. I also get acne/boils that sometimes smell like rotten eggs all over my back and chest. Does anybody have any ideas? I haven't got much help by going to the doctor. Thanks!
I quit drinking a couple years ago and I definitely know alcohol doesn't help the problem. lol
I gotta say though, I think I had better bowel movements even when I was drinking.
Yogurt and high fiber seems to be giving me some relief. I don't recall mentioning my "cure" with using yogurt and fiber. More of a process of conditioning my digestive track. I'm thinking dysbiosis and possible yeast overgrowth causing the problem. That might explain the acne/boils on chest. (yeast?) I think the gas is from introducing fiber to my diet and possibly the bacteria going to work. I have been to a GI dr. and since tests came back negative for major problems he said just keep yourself regular with Myralax, which didn't work at all. Not much help. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone has had similar symptoms and have had success with treating it. Like I said it seems that my system is not responding to most laxatives. A couple weeks ago I tried Epsom salt and it didn't respond at all. When I use to use it a year ago it created diarrhea. It almost seems impossible to create diarrhea if I had to. My goal for now is just to get my system going.

I’ve been reading about colon cleansing kits online, and I came across an article that tells me you can follow the instructions for a colonoscopy prep and get the same results. Is this true?

Suboxone and chronic constipation?

I have been on Suboxone for about 4 months at 8mg. I have been extremely constipated the whole time. When I say constipated, I mean I have a bowel movement every couple weeks. And the only way I have a bowel movement is by taking a laxative and when I take the laxative I take 3 times the dosage. And then I still only have a very small movement. I have gained 10lbs and my eating habilts haven't changed. So I know the only reason for the weight gain is because I don't have any movements. I don't know where all the food I eat is going, but I am very scared. I went to my gastro guy and he gave me a new constipation med and that didn't even work. I also have taken phospho soda, which is something you take before a colonoscopy to clean out your colon. And that didn't work. I have sent away for that Dual Action Cleanse you see on TV and I asked my gastro guy about it and he said I could take it if I wanted to. So if anyone knows what I could do about this please let me know.

Most websites you find giving positive testimonials or good reviews to cleansers seem to be set up by the manufacturers themselves. Is compacted waste a myth? I have read that when a Dr. needs a patient cleared out before a colonoscopy they’ll give you what is essentially a strong laxative and your colon will be clean as a whistle so why the need for a colon cleanser? Why isn’t there more info out there debating the merits of cleansing if it is a scam and not “Doctor recommended”? It’s hard to come by negative reviews other than sites like Amazon in the user review section.
