All right, this is gonna sound a bit different than normal pin worm complaints.
I first realized the itchiness on a gloomy day at the end of June. Having a severe bug/worm phobia, I cried and sobbed for a good 20 minutes until my mom managed to convince me it wasn’t a taenia infection, but pin worms, then I cried for another 20 mins after hearing they crawled out of my bottom at night.
Fortunately my mom was quick to get me the medication, and the next day, they were gone and I was ready to forget about the whole thing.
Although I took my second dosage (even the third and the fourth just to be safe), after a month or so I realized I had this slight, tingly feeling down there, like a worm had just moved. I immediately took another dosage, but I still had that sensation. I felt it every 5-10 mins. It was nothing like the itchiness I felt during the initial infection, but it was such a specific and independent sensation that it was impossible to ignore.
I was never able to catch a specimen as proof but I knew I had been reinfected because there were some solid symptoms as well, like that weird mouth odor I had during the first infection, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. This went on for 3 months during which time my parents tried to convince me I was making up the symptoms (except the weight loss, they thought I didn’t eat enough) and that I was becoming paranoid about the whole thing.
At the end of 3 months I finally managed to catch one of these bastards, showed it to my parents with a victorious expression on my face, and they took me to their house which is a lot more hygienic than mine, and there I gave pumpkin seeds a try, and it worked miraculously! I didn’t feel anything for a whole week, but then it started again. I was fed up! I changed everything everyday (clothes, undies, sheets, towels)! I wore surgery gloves and masks whenever I went to bathroom. I cleaned my hands with surgery disinfectant and they dried up pretty bad and now I have wrinkles on my hands. I kept my fingernails so short that I couldn’t look at them without grimacing with disgust. I ate and swallowed at least 5 garlics a day, literally filled my self with various spices (especially curry). But I still had that tingly feeling. It would stop for a day or two, then it would start again.
So I decided to take my medication every single day for a month, and eat pumpkin seeds every morning. Again, I wouldn’t feel anything for 3 days where I’d rejoice and celebrate, and then on the third day, the mouth odor would come back and I’d start feeling that something’s-crawling-out-of-my-butt sensation again.
This is still the case. My parents are getting angry about it, so we’re gonna do the scotch tape test.
My question is, what the hell is this?! Why don’t I have intense itching like the first time if I’m being re-infected? How many times CAN you get re-infected when you’re doing everything right and fighting the infection with home remedies along with the medication? Why does it stop for a couple of days and start again? There were durations where I didn’t take any medication, but the infection wouldn’t intensify. Always the same tiny tingle. This is such a weird situation. Is there anyone else out there who has something similar to this? Any theories?
And would colon cleanse solve the problem, and if it can, which brand should I use? They say Clarkia is great. Is it a parasite cleansing product, or the same as the colon cleansing products? Is there anything I should do or know before trying that? Any info on colon cleansing process would be appreciated.
I am scared to death that I’ll be one of those people who say "I’ve had them for 10 years! Help me!"
I friggin hate pin worms, and I promise if I manage to make them go away, I’ll dedicate myself to helping everyone out who can’t get rid of pin worms.
