The master cleanse, is it safe, what are the side effects, am i too young?
I am 18 female and i have recently been thinking of doing a colon cleanse, (not to lose weight) I have very bad eating habits and I am very unhealthy, although I am in a good weight range (145 lbs at 5′ 10) I would like to eat healthier. I researched a lot of cleansers but I am a student and do not have a lot of spare cash.
If you have done the master cleanse or know a lot about it I have a few questions:
1. Am i too young to do it? Like, at my age is it harmful?
2. what are the side effects and is it painful?
3. What helped get you through the 10 days
4. When you are done you are supposed to slowly go back to eating solids, and on day 11 they say to drink orange juice, I cant stomach orange juice, is there alternatives I could use to help get me back to a normal healthy diet
5. What is the worst side effect of it? Whats the worst that could happen if i try this cleanse?
Again, I want to use this as the first step to a healthier life style. Don’t think I am using it as a quick weight loss fix as I am happy with my weight. Thanks!
ps, after the cleanse I want to stay on a healthy "diet" as in not eat unhealthy stuff, anyone know a good book/website that gives good healthy meals a 18 year old can make? (im not the greatest cook
)

Eating celery, fish and salad will help a lot when wanting to lose weight. They are not magical foods that make you lose weight, but by eating those you will not eat stuff that does make you gain weight.
Same as drinking water instead of drinking beer,., wine, carbonated drinks.
It’s pivotal to eat good to keep healthy. Acai berry is an amazing super food that keeps you healthy and additionally has the bonus of assisting you to lose a pile of weight. There is a free trial happening currently at http://wosang.optimalfitness.info , why not try it, what’s the worst that could happen?
You’ll lose too much weight on the master cleanse.
You sound pretty skinny as you are, so obviously that wouldn’t be good.
The master cleanse isn’t a gateway to a healthier lifestyle.
You’re actually more likely to binge afterwards as it’s so restrictive, you’ll crave sugar, fat, carbs – just food in general. You won’t be able to help yourself, seriously.
Please don’t try it.
If you want to stop eating cr*p, then cut it out for a week or two.
Cut out junk food, caffeine, whatever ‘bad’ foods that you eat.
Eat lots of fresh fruit and veg and drink plenty of water.
I know fruit and veg are expensive, but there are places you can get them relatively cheap, plus it would only be for a week or two that you would need that much.
Master cleanse isn’t a good idea, especially for someone with bad eating habits.
Good Luck!
=)
No, you are not too young.
The Master Cleanse is fresh lemon juice, pure organic Grade B maple syrup and cayenne pepper.
The purpose of the cleanse is to break up and remove excess mucous and similar toxins while giving the body a rest. The maple syrup provides crabs to keep you from feeling run down and weak during the fast.
If you are very unhealthy I would suggest being followed by a wellness practitioner. The side effects depend on your current diet, if you consume caffeine then you will probably have a headache for a day or two. You may experience some withdrawal if you have a high sugar diet.
The most important things to remember are:
1) drink at least 80 ounces of fluids like herbal tea, master cleanse and water daily
2) make sure you are having at least 1-3 bowel movements daily.
3) Make a plan for the days ahead after your fast and remember its only a week plus 3 days encourage yourself- this will help you get through it.
You may want to add a tea like Smooth Move by American Medicinals or Celestial Seasonings Detox AM tea or Yogi Detox tea.
The worse thing that could happen is you feel worse, hungry, weak, listless, emotional, headache, this is all normal and generally goes away after 3-4 days. You can drink any kind of natural (no sugar added) juice or vegetable both to break your fast.
