What makes the white part in my eyes yellow?
I went to the doctor twice and have been referred to go see a G.I. twice. It has been confirmed that I have no jaundice. However, the yellow in my eyes annoying, and I wasn’t born with my eyes yellow, they were white before. I have understood that the yellowing of the eyes is a sign that there is a byproduct of red blood cells, which are now waste and stored in the liver; thus, this waste is cause of yellow skin, yellow eyes. I have no yellow skin, but yes yellow eyes. I am now considering trying a Detox product(one from GNC) for the cleansing of my colon/liver. I have been eating some unhealthy stuff for about a while(too much coffee cake in 1 sitting(about 10 servings), too much chocolate, sugar, brownies, processed foods(lean cuisine, hot pockets), fast food, peanut butter, etc). Another thing about my eating habit is I don’t really check for the expiration date, but most of the coffee cake I eat tastes the same any way even when the date states expired. I am considering having a new life style that includes carrots and fresh food. In conclusion, is it safe and highly recommended for a detox product?

Bilirubin (formerly referred to as hematoidin) is the yellow breakdown product of normal heme catabolism. Heme is found in hemoglobin, a principal component of red blood cells. Bilirubin is excreted in bile, and its levels are elevated in certain diseases. It is responsible for the yellow color of bruises and the yellow discoloration in jaundice. milk thistle is a popular herb used to cleanse the liver.
to much Sugar or kidney infection
Hepatitis is going to turn your eyes yellow you better check that.
Of course jaundice is the knee jerk reaction. However, anything that causes your body to produce more bile can cause it. Another thing that people do not think about is nicotine. It can cause your fingers, nails, and the whites of your eyes to get a yellow tinge. Too much beta carotene can do it as well. As for the GNC detox, yes that is a great product, providing you do not have other health issues. If your physician clears you for a detox and you do not want to spend the money on the GNC product you can do three days of eating brown rice, and drinking low sodium chicken broth, and 8 servings of water. As for the carrots you mentioned, too many can also lead to the yellowing from the beta carotene. Spinach is also very cleansing
