Where does Dr.Oz get his information regarding the importance of a colon cleanse?

As a medical doctor, doesn’t he realize that the body in itself adequately cleanses itself. Where does he get the claims that the body stores toxins which can only be adequately removed via a colon cleanse?

Dr. Oz does not advocate colon cleansing. There is a company that claims they have his endorsement when they do not. He and Opera are taking this to court. I happened to catch her show one day when this was discussed.
Well, he IS a Doctor! I’d say just listen to him, because he is obviously VERY successful as he has been put on national television, and now he has his own show. He gets his information from his job, and I think that his information is very accurate.
An extreme amount of the things Oz promotes are, to put it bluntly, total quackery.
Just because someone is not TV does not mean they are correct most medical doctors are trained in medicals schools sponsored by pharmaceutical companies so in effect traditional doctors are elaborate sales reps for big companies. They just sit there and give pills to patients most of which have many side effects and are very expensive.
Despite this I know for a fact that a colon cleanse is very good to detoxify the body especially with the modern junk food a lot of people eat. This treatment is part of Gerson’s therapy which has been curing cancer for decades it basically rids the body of toxic substances so it can cure itself with the correct nutrients. A very good movie to watch is "The Gerson Miracle" it also talks about the importance of a colon cleanse.

I actually think I saw where he was totally against colon cleanses.
